Why RANT exists
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not. RANT was built to close the distance between what a person can do and what they can prove.

The challenge facing employability
Across Ghana, thousands of young people complete technical and vocational training each year. Many leave with real skills, but without a reliable way to demonstrate them. Employers receive applications they cannot verify. Schools lose sight of graduates the moment they leave. Government invests in training programmes without dependable data on whether those programmes lead to work.
The result is a gap that costs everyone. Young people cannot show what they can do. Employers hire cautiously, or not at all, because the risk of a bad hire falls entirely on them. Schools cannot prove their impact. And the cycle continues — talent remains hidden, and opportunity never reaches it.
This is not a problem of motivation or ability. It is a problem of proof.
Why the CV no longer tells the full story
A traditional CV is a list of claims. It records what a person says they studied, where they say they worked, and what they say they can do. It is self-written, self-curated, and almost impossible to check.
For a young person who has spent years learning a trade but has little formal work history, the CV is especially thin. It cannot show the wiring they installed correctly, the garment they finished to standard, the code they wrote, or the attendance they maintained. It cannot carry the voice of a teacher who watched them improve, or an employer who saw them perform under pressure.
A document that tells only what someone claims — and shows nothing of what they have done — cannot be the foundation on which hiring decisions, training investments, or national policy are built.
Why evidence matters
Evidence replaces assertion with something that can be examined. A photograph of completed work. An assessment signed by a qualified instructor. A record of attendance kept by a school. A reference written by a supervisor who saw the work firsthand.
Evidence can be checked. It carries context — who verified it, when, and under what authority. It allows an employer to look beyond the claim and see the capability. It allows a school to demonstrate the quality of what it teaches. And it allows a young person to carry proof of their effort wherever opportunity takes them.
When evidence travels with the user, the burden of trust no longer falls on the employer alone. It is shared — and it is verifiable.
Why trust matters
Evidence alone is not enough. It must be trustworthy. A photograph can be staged. A certificate can be fabricated. A reference can be written by a friend. Without a way to confirm the source, even genuine evidence carries doubt.
Trust is built through verification. When a school confirms a qualification, an employer records observed performance, and a recognised body attests to a standard, each contribution strengthens the others. Trust is not assumed — it is earned, recorded, and carried forward.
This is why RANT does not simply store documents. It records who verified each piece of evidence, when, and under what relationship. Every claim has a chain of accountability behind it.
Why RANT was created
RANT was created to close the gap between what a person can do and what they can prove.
It gives every user a single, portable record — a passport — that holds their verified identity, skills, qualifications, experience, and professional conduct in one place. It is not a social network and not a job board. It is infrastructure: shared, dependable, and built to last beyond any single application or hiring round.
RANT exists so that a young person in Kumasi, Tamale, or a rural community can walk into an interview, an application, or a new opportunity carrying the same quality of verified record as anyone, anywhere.
How education, enterprise and employment connect
The passport only works when the people who teach, the people who hire, and the people who govern all contribute to — and draw from — the same record.
- Schools and training institutions record what was taught, what was achieved, and the standard reached. This becomes the foundation of the user's passport.
- Employers record what they observed in the workplace — attendance, reliability, teamwork, practical skill. This adds weight to what the school recorded.
- The user carries both, verified and linked, wherever they go. Their record grows with them and belongs to them.
- Government and directorates see the aggregate picture: who is being trained, who is being employed, which programmes lead to work, and where investment is needed.
No single actor holds the full truth. But together, around a shared and trustworthy record, education, enterprise, and employment become connected — and the path from learning to work becomes visible, measurable, and open to all.
Built by RANT Academy
RANT Passport has been developed by RANT Academy to help learners evidence their capabilities and connect with opportunities. It is one part of a wider ecosystem working to make employability measurable, trustworthy and open to all.
RANT Academy builds capability through education, partnerships and evidence — bringing together schools, employers and institutions around a shared standard of trust.
Strategic leadership
RANT Passport was developed under the strategic leadership of Lizzy Lambie as part of the wider RANT employability ecosystem — combining research, systems design and practical partnership to connect learning with opportunity.
